A lake region in Southern Appalachia, it has always called to tourists with its natural beauty; first by train and then by car. More recently, it has become an attraction for visitors from Atlanta, Greenville, and Asheville as well as a large number of guests from Florida. People come to unwind and explore our local shops, tourist attractions, restaurants and vineyards. While the first few months of the year are quiet, the rest of the year keeps a steady flow of patrons from Spring to Summer and from Leaf Season to Small Business Saturday.
